Sookie is a doe that immediately catches attention for her length and style. She is a beautiful, long bodied junior who blends smoothly from neck to withers and carries a long, level topline that gives her a refined, elegant look. Her balance and correctness make her a joy to watch on the move.

Her pedigree is equally exciting. Sookie is the daughter of a buck who is the full brother to Fiona, one of our foundation does tying her closely into the bloodlines we value most here at Echo Ridge. With that kind of connection, she has the genetics to be a strong asset as she matures into a senior doe.

This year, Sookie made her first appearances in the show ring, and she certainly caught the eyes of the judges. While she didn’t get shown as much as we had hoped, the promise is clear. Next year, we plan to bring her out more consistently and we’re excited to see her make her mark.

Her name comes from one of my favorite shows, Gilmore Girls. With her dam named Dragon Fly, it felt only right to honor the Dragonfly Inn and begin a little Gilmore Girls line in our herd.
